Thanks Guy's,I will be continuing with the copper theme, I have started on a Hallock style windshield, but still have a ways to go, and there will be some brackets and braces made with copper and rivets to.
    Cheers Steve.

  8. The use of copper is amazing,I really like the style. HRP

  9. that copper strip is a great touch and will really set the car off.

I haven't done much on the roadster lately , but I made a point to spend some time on it and I started on a Hallock ? style windshield, fabricated from 1/8" copper plate to continue the copper theme. Here's what I have so far.

Really good work being done here. Look forward to your progress and learning some things about metal work from you by following this build.

Think I would have done the Hallock in steel and copper plated it. But then, I don't have your skills

  22. Damn I can't work out how to edit my post.. Just add it here i guess.

I tried doing an ally hood Steve but first time it was a little short on the back edge.. second time I fucked up the louvers -_- Might have to save some deniros and see if you can help me make one.

Nice build! The speedo is from a Vauxall Velox 1952-54, i had a 52 in my teens. And now a similar one (1949) in my roadster project.

Thanks for the info Ray, I had no idea. The A is looking good Nick, louvers are a pain, especially on a curved panel.

cool little roadster... copper is something i've not seen done well... and never on an A that i can think of; yours is looking great!

  26. I have a tip that you may be able to use. Because the roadster bodies are something less than strong I did a few things to strengthen it up.
    1. I took 1.5 angle iron and sliced it so I could bend it. Bent it so it would fit up under the lip from the door to the flange where the 1/4 meets the top of the rear deck. Once it was a good fit I welded it all up and ground it down then bolted it in. You can tug at the top of the body by the door opening and it does not move!!
    2. I installed 2 sets of chain and turnbuckles, One going upper left to lower right - one going from upper right to lower left, that go from side to side up under the upper deck area to secure the body from shifting side to side.

    Work fine for me.
    Nice work!!!

Thanks Guy's, Striper, I did the windscreen frame in 1/8" copper because I already had the material.
