Good ;looking truck that your wife might even let you park in front of the house instead of out back by the shed. I expect that she will now expect you to haul things in it though.
Awesome, I'm partial to '64's too. A '64 Ford 1/2ton was my first vehicle, when I turned 13 (1985) my dad and I dragged it out of a neighbors pasture. The story was that the farmers son drove it and loved the sound of that 292 on high RPM deceleration......until a rod came out. Dad and I spent a couple years rebuilding it with a 352 transplant and painted her up. Sold it even before ever having my drivers licence for $1400!!!
Damn that's nice!!! I do like those trucks big time, and it would be hard choice between that or the Chevy of the same era. Whichever comes my first will probably fill the bill though! Some how I missed seeing you/it at L.A.R.S. last weekend.
Neat truck. My Grandpa bought a 61 Uni brand new. By the way, I did some google image searching, the front bumper looks to be late 70's Dodge.
Nice ride - these seem to be coming out of the woodwork. I was at the Russo & Steele Newport Beach Auction yesterday to pick up my credentials and this '65 was in line to be checked in, the 390 sounded great - if you're looking for one of these this one looked good. 061714 Russo & Steele Newport Beach 166 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr 061714 Russo & Steele Newport Beach 172 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr
I've had a fetish for these things ever since this one turned up in the 2nd Ultradyne catalog back in the eighties. Early sixties dearborn styling, cragar SS's and two-tone, it just doesnt get any better than that.
Hey Ryan, I take no responsibility for the autometers.... Glad to hear you're still happy with it, it really is a good honest truck. I looked for one for awhile too, was hard to find a shortbed that wasn't cut up and unusable as a truck or completely rusted out. going to miss it but the $ will go into the bonneville fund. If you get a chance, go to the secret museum - it is simply jaw dropping. Oh, and if you are real lucky Justin may take you to 'El Portal' too!
I must admit, I was more fond of the Chevy trucks in the same years. As luck would have it and the planets and stars aligned, I was able to scoop the 64 up and "re-gift" it to my Pops. It is super fun to drive and the cab is comfortable and roomy enough to wear a 10 gallon hat.
