Havent started a new thread on the new hamb yet, figured it was time i should, been working on this project since mid winter. Some of you may recognize the name Chadly Johnson as hes a contributor of photography and stories in Traditional Rod and Kulture mag, well ive known Chadly for a good few years now and have worked together on projects where hes done the photagraphy and ive done the story, one being Bulls A tudor i built. Ive also acted as a "scout" for Chadly for cars to photograph have been with on many shoots. Over the time of us being freinds hes always told me he wanted to do a roadster. him and his club the :"Hot Heads" built his first model A together (which later got named "the Chadly Coupe" made famous by the huge road trip sponsored by coker or how ever that work) after he sold that car he kept talking about a roadster build adn wed bounce ideas off each other here and there. he had been keeping an eye out for an original henry 30/31 roadster but prices were just too high for the conditions they were in. so finally fall of 2013 the decision was made to go with a brookville body. So he ordered the body thru another freind Jordan at Union Speed in Monticello mn. Thats all im gonna tell on the story for now, ill let some pics do the talking and get back to some info later.
So basically here is where we are today, back to the fifties is in a couple days so were in a mad thrash to get it done. were close.
thanks everyone, the dash was a super fun project, i was walking thru the junkyard and it caught my eye, Chadly had said he wanted a special dash, so i pulled it out and sent him a pic of his new dash! Loudbang, we started building the car around the 1st of March, worked on it for a bit then took a break for a bit, starting at post #4 (dash) its been 3 weeks.
You and Bob Bleed...you guys know your old style builds. First words about the body with no rot and i was hoping you were going channeled he he
Another cool build outta Stillwater's finest Hot Rod shop! I dig it, Jeff! Chad should be pretty stoked. It'll be done in no time!
Looks great...WIth that dash a Y-block between the rails would be cool. I dig the taillights....perfect.
Larry, kinda going for a show ish hot rod type deal, we decided to go with the canted 58 taillights for now because its what i had around, fortunaltely the back panel unbolts so we can easily do a taillight change if we decide too. the back will also be coming down another inch or two at some point here. got it running tonight, will post a video later. jeff
I think it was from the dreaded "gear head world" on ebay, as a buy it now, Its a Tanks brand tank and you can also order it direct from them. jeff
