  3. Leroy,

That first pic is of a '28 Dodge Victory Six- if you wind up with it, I am in need of an interior... mine was "lost at the shop"...:(

  11. This 29 Chev 2dr sat here for years (early 60s till mid 80s). It was involved in a murder and sat here there after. I took the pic in 76 and have the front # plate in my collection. JW

I remember scouting around for cars about 22 years ago... just driving around and dreaming, really. I don't think I ever saw much in the way of '30's-'40's, though there were a few. The ones I asked about were also someone's planned project. Hard to say if they ever got them going or not.

It takes a LOT to get a car back on the road after it's been sitting. I know I never got mine (the one I did pick up to work on) going even after years of effort, and that dream eventually ended when a tree fell on it. So, I abandoned it to the guy who was storing it...

...and I can just see somebody today looking at it, thinking, "Man.... look at that..."

    LOL

    It's a rabbit hole.

There's an old junk yard near where I live that apparently has changed owners and is in the process of getting cleaned up. There was a LOT of old stuff in there, but the problem was, as someone who had been in there put it, that car on the ground is actually resting on top of two others that have rotted into the soil. There were two Edsels, a wagon and a four door, sitting between the fence and the road that had been there as long as I can remember. They were there in the early 60's. I was able to look one time a year ago; both frames were shot, the wagon was sort of folding in half. I'll try to scoot down there and get some pictures before everything is gone. Most that I could see had that green mold on them.

I guess Batlow is in Australia? I never knew that Australian trucks had different roofs without the visors. That Chevy Ute would be killer to have!

Yeah they did them a bit different over here, I actually owned a truck very similar to the one at the top, when I was 16, around the same time I discovered this one. Speaking of 16, thats how many years it was before i was able to take possession of it. I have read that they only produced ten of these, so i guess this one is kind of rare which is a bummer when you are looking for spares.[IMG]

Here are a couple more, a 37 Chev Utility, these were dirt common over here, at least 700 were produced that year. Not sure about numbers for the 35 Ford but I think they were pretty common too.[IMG] [IMG]

Sad, sad, sad...this vette was moved here 10-15 years ago and the tarp is off of it more than on. Not for sale...going to restore. It's getting pretty bad at this point.
