Any body know where to stay at for the Detroit Autorama? Extra rooms? Do you think we're too late?

If you stay at any of the Downtown hotels don't forget to add $15.00 - $20.00 per day for parking your daily driver. Parking on top of Cobo Hall (roof parking) is only $4 per day. They do not allow you to leave you car overnite.

The only place I can recommend that hasn't already been mentioned would be the Comfort Inn on Buckingham in Livonia 734-458-7111. It's right on Middlebelt at the I96 freeway. Approx a 12 mile straight shot down the freeway to the Cobo Hall roof parking. Also there is a Bob Evans and an IHop resturant right at the same corner, and a mom and pop type greesey spoon less then one mile away that we eat weekend breakfasts at.

We ( the NJ group) just got our rooms at the Marriot, just 2 blocks from the show. 99 a night. Nice breakfast buffet as well! The bar is well stocked, too!

  9. Good spot to stay............I think I remember stumbling there after one of Denise's parties..........:)

I would also like to throw out the suggestion of staying in windsor. There are many hotels not far from the bridge or there is also the Casino. Im right outside of windsor by the way.

    Denise,
Is that the place out by your house? That's where we stayed last year. Cheaper than downtown and a lot less gunfire:D :D I think the Nightmares will be there this year.

Boones, my offer from last year still goes. You are more then welcome to stay the night at the house on Saturday and I can run you to the airport Sunday morning.

Clark, are you going to be delivering the '32 on Sunday evening after the show closes at 8pm? Tom lives real close to me. If you guys want to crash on Sunday nite here you are more then welcome as well. There is plenty of parking for your tow vehicle and trailer and my neighborhood is very safe.

Denise...I guess the car will be his at the show too. I already consider it his. I'm hoping he gets to take it for a spin before the setup.

Thanks for the offer but we'll be heading home Sunday night.

If we can park the truck and trailer in that lot I guess we'll have to find a hotel close by.

Its like a public parking area for all the down town workers, it was fairly secure, it was better than I had expected, and their was a police post fairly close by also...If that what they do with us this year, they may have a different place this year......................I will be arriving on Wensday and am willing to help anyone out that needs help unloading or what ever, and explaining where to go, since I will have all ready done it...Littleman

Littleman..I think we're gonna call the Holiday.

The one thing that nobody realizes about Detroit is that there just ain't anybody around. If there's nobody around, nobody's gonna mug you or kill you or laugh at your silly haircut.

Sure there'll be a bunch of people around when you go to Autorama, but they'll just be a bunch of harmless attendees like yourselves. Of course you should fear the ricers and the NASCAR fans. But that goes for anywhere.
