Hi my name is Chris and am new to the site. I have been left numerous antique vehicles. One is a 1941 Ford pickup with a flathead v8 and a rotten stake bed. On the back of the property is an old ford bed...problem is, the wheelwells are of a newer style( more square than rounded) My question is, the main part of the bed...looks just like a 41... Can I use that and just replace the wheel wells. Was there a span of years where the same bed was used just the wells had changed?

This is the breakdown on the years that the beds interchanged.
    38-41 (41 used different tailgate)
    46-47
    48-52
    53-56
As far as bolting on... not sure even though step side beds are all very similar. Complete beds are available for all of these year models as well as individual panels and wood. Check Macs, LMC Truck, Dennis Carpenter etc.

There was a 1946 Ford with a Chevy pickup bed on it in my area. Looked dumb, but it seemed to be no problem to mount it.
