I see you put a tail-shaft loop at the rear, what happens if the front universal joint breaks, where does the front of the shaft go after it digs into the road, you should have a full loop at front as well.

I haven't posted in a long time but I have been doing a lot of work on the roadster, I torn the car down to the bare frame, finished all the welding on the frame and wish bones, built an aluminum fuel tank, mounted the fuel filler and some other odds and ends. I also have been restoring the pines winterfront grille insert, I reinstalled It into the patina 32 grille shell for now but I will come out again so the shell can get painted

Your doing a great job! Any thoughts on final color? Or is that a surprise?

Looks good. I like it so far, your dad has a picture of me sitting in your car, he brought us over and showed it to us when we visited this past summer.
I like your shop too, just the sort of thing I'll be searching for when I retire and move out there in 4 years time or so.
Your dad and I are pretty much the same age.
    Larry.

well its been a really long time since I posted on here. I went about a year without working on the roadster, got a little burnt out on it and last winter I decided to put a 5 speed in my Acadian and do a few other things so that took up some of my time. this past july I made a decision to get my car running in bare metal for july 2016 for a show we have called deucedays, only happens every 3 years and cars come from all across north America to be there. so this past September I started working on it again. I ordered up a steering box, column, wheel, built a structure under the dash to hang the column and to support the cowl, built a custom seat frame, and now have pulled the body off and I started to build exhaust for the car, its going slow but I am making progress on the car and really hope to drive it into deucedays 2016

I would be sure to use STEEL bushings in my shifter arm linkage instead of the normal plastic ones with the exhaust that close.

Not steel. Oilite bronze would be the proper choice. Look it up :)
