I'll be there. Loved the show last year. My truck is a little too "rough" for that show, but will drive it there regardless. Cant wait....
I'm leaving Wednesday evening from central KS to meet up with the Jetters and Pareso coming down from Colorado. 700 miles each way for me, more like 1200 for them. Here's what I'm driving:
www.customcarrevival.com has the info. This Saturday, Indianapolis, traditonal kustoms only, you need to get pre-approved or they can give you the thumbs up or thumbs down at the gate. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I don't know the address, which is why I put the website in the above post. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Kats by straykatkustoms posted May 7, 2013 at 3:10 PM Dr. Dave, Renee and I will be leaving Wednesday for Indy. I've been looking forward to this since I missed last year. You will have company. My Merc is ruff and showing road rash and some tail drag'n abuse. I was going into the shop for some cosmetic work on the skirts and front fenders but just didn't have the time to get it done. Kevin was nice enough to still give it the ok. See ya guys early Thursday afternoon. Happy Trails, Mick
Looking forward to the show and making a run with Mick! Two Merc draggin' the asphalt to check out a bunch of way cool customs is my kinda weekend!
Too bad you guys changed your route...was looking forward to watching TWO Mercs slink down the road...!!! Oh well... R-
Bottom line…we didn't want to bring down the cool factor of your caravan with our scratch and dent rigs. Looking forward to finally meeting you in person Roger!
You hadn't met Roger before? Man, will you be in for a treat. I enjoy every hour that we have talked. Kool to talk to someone that will share his opinion.
C'mon guys...quit piling it up...I'm just an old kustom lover that likes TRUE kustoms and long-distance cruises...BUT, I am looking forward to meeting Dr. Dave...and the rest of the true kustom guys in Indy... "Kool factor"...??? Me...??? Us...??? Naw, driving a kustom cross country IS the kool factor...if the "scratch and dent" you're talking about is road rash on the front, then there's the 'kool factor"...!!! R-
Dave, you better be the lead car. When Mick gets behind the wheel of his Merc, he goes into a trance and NEVER looks in his rearview mirror. I wish I was going; but not sure if I fit their criteria. I don't consider my car a streetrod. It's a traditional custom hotrod. It has enough modifications to be considered a mild custom. Maybe next year I'll test the waters. I'm glad to see Travis back up and running again. You all have a safe trip up and back. Weather permitting I will go to Paola, KS this Saturday.
Herb ya got me, I don't spend much time looking through the rear view mirror. I have to really watch myself on the open road. I get in the grove and the Merc loves to run. Thanks for the reminder. I will behave this week, plan on cruising low and slow...
LOL. I'll try to keep up. Maybe the head Kat is the best leader or we both may end up "Stray". LOL Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Dave just get in front of him. Keep him humble. I spoke to Jack Walker today. He is coming to Indy; not showing a car this year.
Looking to go on Saturday. Think our Goldsmobile will make the cut? It aint no "show car", but it sure aint no rat.... Just askin. I don't want to trek it there to be turned away....
What~s the worse thing can happen. If you don`t make the cut, You will half to park in the lot next door beside a 32 Ford that didn`t make the cut either. I`ll be happy if they park me next to the trash dumpsters across the street. I love customs and decided to go in January. Even talked my dad into going , It is fathers day Sunday, which will be spent following him home for 600 miles.
