    The Hunnert Car Heads-Up 6 will be June 6-7, 2014 at the historic Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI!!! That's right, Two fun filled days of traditional hot rod drag racing. (stay tuned for details and schedules)

    We have also again partnered with the Meltdown Drags (July 19, 20, 21, 2014) at the historic Byron Dragway (Byron, IL) for a special nostalgia drag series – The Heads Up * Meltdown Vintage Drag Series - Compete at both events and get a special waterslide decal that only racers can get.

    We are also welcoming back the Gasser Magazine Gasser Nationals North!

    This is REAL drag racing, NOT exhibition runs!

    *1965 and earlier ONLY. If your car is newer than 1965, you’re not racing*

    Some things to look forward to at the Hunnert Car Heads-Up:
    * Handwritten time slips!
    * Real flagman starts!
    * Mini bike drag races!
    * Heads up racing with gassers, A/FX cars, hot rods, dragsters, and even those low n’ slow customs!
    * Car show in The Pits for traditional hot rods & customs only!

    8 Simple rules that everyone (14 seconds and slower) should be able to follow:
    1. Seat belts
    2. All lugnuts installed
    3. Metal oil pressure lines
    4. No fuel pressure gauges in the cabin without an isolator
    5. Dual throttle return springs
    6. Non-glass coolant overflow can
    7. No more than 12″ of rubber fuel line total
    8. Closed toe shoes and long pants

    If your car is quicker than 14 sec, you’ll have to look up the NHRA rules, but you should not have any trouble running at the Heads Up. We like fast cars.

    Tech inspection opens at 9am. Racing starts as soon as the first 2 cars go through tech, and won’t stop until the last car quits running.
    *9am to Noon is Test n’ tune
    *11am (Saturday) – mandatory driver’s meeting.
    *Noon – Minibike drags.
    *1pm Round 1 – handwritten time slips, waterslide decals
    Round 3 starts round-robin eliminations
    $15 for Spectators
    $20 for ’65 and earlier cars who want to park in the pits, but not race
    $30 to Race
    $50 for open track Test & Tune Friday and all day Saturday
    $20 to camp – no water/electric hook-up, but there will be overnight security

    Hope to see you there!

    What's even cooler is they are not competing events. We both help each other out!

    What a wonderful idea real drag racing without all the electronic stuff.

    This is what it's all about.

    Wow, the new HAMB will take some getting used to! Heads Up is fast approaching though! Maybe by then we'll all have this figured out! :)

    Could someone post up a few details regarding the minibike drags? Namely, can my 13 yr. old boy run his Lil' Indian, or is he too young?

    The track rules require him to be 16.

    Ok, that's fine either way. Thanks for checking. I guess the same rules apply to passengers in the cars as well. He was too young to take a pass down the track last year too. He's going to have to wait until 2017.

    Not a problem. I kind of figured there would be an age limit of some sort.

    You never know what will show up. How about a blown '60 Impala!

    Fingers crossed on the weather for Saturday. So far only chance for scattered thundershowers.

    It's unfortunate we only had Friday to attend. Paid $30 to enter, only to watch the few pre '65 vehicles there race (maybe a dozen?) and mainly all '80's and newer race. Not what was stated, not what we expected. Stayed until 9:30 hoping it would get better, but ended up leaving pretty disappointed.

    Sat. was a great time. The Czars pulled it off again. The gasser nats. tied in works great.
    Already looking foward to next year.

    Had a blast. Need to work on my flag starts.

  29. Way cool day at the races, thanks Czars, our club brother Bill Astrouski won the 14.00 and slower class in Big Vics 1930 model A Tudor. Nice!
