Come a long ways, baby. It's been just over 6 months.

Drove around today, it's 106 out which is about as hot as it ever gets here. No problems with the car, it didn't vapor lock, or boil over, or cook me. When I got home I did some quick checking with the temperature gun...the temp gage in the dash said just over 220, the sender is in the head, right by the exhaust flange. The temp gun said 206 at the thermostat housing, and 200 at the front end of the head. 140 on the firewall pad, 180 just below it (where the header goes under), and about 135-140 over most of the rest of the front floor. Maybe those insulated floor mats are a good idea.

I also tightened up the steering box a little, and adjusted the drag link to get the steering wheel centered. It feels better now, it was slightly sloppy before. And I started on the vent windows...got one side rebuilt, need to get some more setting tape for the other side. No one in town has it. I guess I get to order it on the internets and wait.

I don't know. Still need to get some slicks, make wheelie bars, and do some other stuff. Might make a new oil pan for it too...

Awesome job Jim, you sure don't waste any time, 6 months is nothing as far as time goes. It looks totally period, I really dig the shifter, I have an original for one of my Hydro's that's a killer look. Good luck @ Drag Week man...

To late now Jim, but you can go to the local sports store and buy hockey tape for setting your door glass. It is used to wrap the handles of stick.

Went on a little road trip today, not too far....made it to Bisbee and back home. The car seems to work. I'm happy. Next on the agenda: get it to a drag strip

Clean period design, I like it. Is the spring pre-loadable as needed?
