Too bad nobody had any info on the Hi-Speed Auto Parts shop. Well, we'll see later on. Been lots of catching up with other things after the intense garage sessions before the car show. But now it is time to try get the little roadster rolling. Started on the headlight stands. I want them to be easy to take off and drive without in daytime. Sweden has a " daytime low beam law", but some old vehicles can get an exemption from this due to the bad charging of old generators. I am hoping to get that. We'll see. We took the original Model A headlight bar and cut it off. Left a piece on the other side of the "bowl" to grab when bending Then checked out the angle and height Let's bend some more Notice! No water on the ground! After cutting, checking and welding for some time, one is done. The other will be done tonight!
Last night it was time to do the other side. Lots of heating and bending to get it as similar as possible. Here we go! Done!
Thanks! Oh boy, this new design makes me a bit dizzy... A few updates and short steps against getting the car on the road... Incredible how many details there are to get this kind of simple car to work. If you don't want to just throw it all together with no thought of design. When I shortened and leaned the column, the gear shift of course collided with the steering wheel... So, I had to cut it off a few inches and weld back the original thread Then we did a plate for the electrics. Not so much stuff on this kind of car, luckily I couldn't find anywhere to buy gaskets for the Quickchange, so I did my own. Do they sell that anywhere? Hopefully I can find some time between all day and night time work and be able to be in the garage and have all the electrics and oils and lubrications and all that jazz to be done by Sunday night. And MAYBE get the car started up! That would be a victory!

First short test run and first time ever to fill gas on a gas station. It felt pretty ok for a brand new built car. Hope to try some more soon.
Yesterday I tried the car for a short run of 15 miles. Everything is still in one peice and I think nothing is missing... Can't miss our own party tomorrow! Gotta have the headlights on yesterday to not attract the cops on first day. But for the weekend they will be in the trunk. It has been some HOT days here in Sweden the last few days. Almost 90F and damp. So, the hood side opened up for the 296" to get some air

The meeting was great this weekend and it was no sleep, only party. We took the cars for a run during Saturday and the new roadster worked great. But I have problems with radiator water pumping out while driving. I might have too soft radiator cap pressure. The engine is pretty souped up and I have a Walker radiator, so i might use some higher pressure. What should it be for a bit hotter engine and that radiator? 7 lbs? 15 lbs? 4 lbs? Some nice cars showed up A nice new built Phaeton showed up Finally on the road for a little longer rtip. Felt great! We drove to Trollhattan on small roads (about 30 miles one way) and their very nice cafe by the river sluice system. 27 cars, all 1934 and older hot rods. Finally I had time to take the car for a little spin. Had to fly to Australia (Cooly Rocks On) and back before I could find time to ride again. Still lots of things to sort out, but it went good both there and back. Some friends and I went to a big Nostalgia festival with the cars about an hour drive from home. The weather was amazing and the party was too. A bit tired driving home the day after... First stop to wait for more cars When we got there, we were parked at the pool party. Very nice. The day after the cars had some good night sleep, but the owners were really tired... Now it's time to fix the stuff that hasn't been done, like the gauges. I also need better front rims (the car gets shaky over 70 mph) and fix the doors to shut properly etc. But it is working and I am really happy with how the car turned out from the images in my head til the car was standing there and I could see it from a distance and walk around it.
