Man I'm so drooling all over your lift you wont be able to use it, I'm getting one before summer is over one way or the other;), It's getting harder for this old fart to get up and down from the floor===jack

Tested the lift with the Gasser Passer........I don't think the lift even felt the weight...

Finished the work unchopping the top today and ran it outside to blast some areas that needed more cleaning... Tomorrow we prime it...then we start unchopping the fiberglass doors.
Anyone have a twin cap ROTOFAZE dist. for sale ??

  18. Careyohio, I'm a few years late to this thread, but Holy Crap Man! ...this is the most awesome Historic Gasser Restoration I've ever seen ! Thanks for sharing it with us mere mortals ;)
I'm just old enough to remember seeing pix of this car in Hot Rod Magazine as a kid, and not only loved Gassers in general, but Ohio George's cars were always one of my Faves.
I'm looking forward to one day see this Passer Gasser completed, and maybe shown at the Gasser Reunion @ Beaver Springs Dragway, which I live not to far from.
PS- you guys Blow me away with your Builds and Restorations !

Prepped and primed the body and started to unchop the drivers side door. Trying to figure where the door top was cut to remove the four inches takes a little time but I think it will be easier to do than the body was...... and a lot less work.

More door work today....... cutting it apart then fabricating and installing wood pieces with drywall screws to hold it all together. The wood pieces will be cut down a little more to get a perfect fit, then glassed into the door to give it some added strength

Doing a great job Carey. Any chance you'll have it at TRP this coming weekend? I'd love to get a close up look at your craftsmanship.

Yes Rob will be there with it this coming weekend. It's going to be parked at the CRUISIN TIMES magazine booth.
Rob and I went to the Springfield swap meet last week and ran into " PERKY " Patty Stephens , the very first HURST GOLDEN SHIFTER girl (She is a real delight ! ) .We talked to her for over half an hour and told her about Thompson and she expressed an interest in going up to meet some of her old friends .
We contacted John Shapiro of the Cruisin Times magazine and he has arranged for her to be there for the weekend. I hope you all get a chance to meet her as she is a great lady and as sharp as a tack !

Looking forward to seeing you Carey. I saw Rob last weekend briefly, and didn't recognize him without a bicycle. :) Sounds like Patty will be on my must see list too.

  28. This is a great thread, I am glad the car is back to life.
