Hey guys Im from Outkast Garage in Australia, Me and a mate started it as a bit of fun and hoping it will take off. We have a few jobs going on in the garage which include, a 36 3W which will be a chopped, flat head powered traditional custom. A 32 Tudor with a radical chop and flat head V8. And also building a 41 chevy for my Mrs. thought i might make a build thread of the project hope you enjoy.

The body was pretty good, and its stance was neat, but the roof was like a sky scraper. the dash had been redone with wood grain prior to buying the car, still not sure if i will use the woodgrain or paint over it.

After stripping the car we went about removing the rust and smoothing out the body. the car looked better in pics but this looked like it was in the snow for alot of its life and had alot of hidden rust.

We flat blacked the body for the roof chop so everything was one colour and sealed.

For the Outkast AGM we decided we would all get into it and chop the roof. Street Machine Magizine covered the day and it was a lot of fun, full of beers and good times.

    CHOPPED!!!!

We only tacked the roof on at the end of the day. We pretty much had to redo the whole thing. 3.5 inches came out, but was a massive change.

Please don't paint over the wood grain. That's such a classy classic kustom look. Good luck with the ride

So what you recon side stainless strip or not. The strip that runs along the side of the bonnet and around the car

As a custom I prefer it with out. Same for the spears on the headlights.
But oddly enough I would consider using a door handle.
And I would use the rocker chrome trim as well....

  18. Retain the strip. You run the risk of turning the car into a shapeless blob without it.
    Good enough for Nick Matranga...

When I see the first pictures I Think; WTF OMG please don't! Such a nice car!!
Next Update: oh nooooooooo, but it's too late.
Last Update: What took you so long! Why aren't there any more doing this!

Mad fab work and massive talent!!

9-10 Web pages claims you can't chop a 40/41 coupe, you cut it and instant disaster!
Except the HAMB: Every last one comes out awesome+1!!!!

This is a 40 I built... did a little different number with the strip. This car didn't have them but I had some of the stainless for the hood.

Been a while since I put up a most. The car is now on the road just rough but good enough to cruise. Next step is a custom grill and v8

    I love it!
Sorry the six has to go. Any GMC's down your way?
The stock grille is also hard to beat. I would mold the rear fenders, however.
