    Thanks Ryan, believe it or not, this is the very first time that menu bar has ever appeared at the top of my reply boxes. :confused:

    Yes, I see now what you were talking about, that menu bar just appeared like magic :) When I said that I figured it out, I still had no menu bar in my reply boxes, I actually typed in a couple of smileys using the keyboard which works also.

    Go to tools on your computer header, should be next to favorites. Click on tools and then on compatibility view settings.
    Remove jalopy journal from compatibility view and you will then get the toolbar at the top of your reply box. :cool:

    Can you turn them off? Reminds me of a teenage girl using hearts to dot her i's.

    Using the dreaded IE, when I click on the smiley in the tool bar it brings down the colored smilies BUT they are all squished together and look like colored sticks.

    ^^^^ mine too, also when a thread that I have posted on shows my avatar in the thread starters avatar corner, it too is a thin little vertical bar???
