Hi guys long time lurker but this is my first post. I can usually find all the info I need by searching but have had no luck. I have a 52 customline with the running gear out of a 1992 mustang gt. My problem is I need windows for the front driver and passenger doors. I got a quote from a local guy for 1000.00 installed. Is that outrageous or seem pretty reasonable. I live in Ventura CA. Thanks for the great site.

  2. Welcome from So Cal. It should be a whole lot cheaper than that, I would shop around.
Also check out the 52-59 Ford Group. Someone there may know of a good glass shop.

That is outrageous! I had some done locally $55 per side for the glass, removing and installing is very easy to do try these guys for the glass:http://www.streetrodglass.com/street-rod-glass-catalog.jsp Call them. Also do your self a huge favor and get this:http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-1952-1...anuals_Literature&hash=item35ab803b65&vxp=mtr and this:http://www.ebay.com/itm/1957-1958-1...anuals_Literature&hash=item3cc498ec8f&vxp=mtr The Ford Parts manual has exploded views of the entire car so you know where everything goes and by looking up the part numbers you can do a Google search for just about anything you need.

I had to have Vent, Door & Quarter window glass made for 55' customline 2 door, $230 for all 6 pieces! Plus they mounted lift channels to bottom of windows & mounted glass in stainless C channel for vent window! $1000, I'd say that's out of line! Or they didn't want to do it & said an outrageous number like $1000! Just my 2 cents, Jimbo

GLASS SHOPS ARE STRANGE. I HAD A WIND SHIELD CUT, AND PUT INTO THE FRAME FOR $95+TAX...I SENT A GUY THERE A YEAR LATER FOR A 32. SAME JOB $200... 3 MONTHS LATER I HAD THEM DO A DOOR GLASS FOR A FORD $40 TO CUT IT AND SMOTH OUT THE EDGES.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THEY HIT HIM SO HARD.. A DIFFERENT SHOP DID IT FOR $100
    MARSHALL....
