  4. I have a few & will be selling a couple when I get back from LARS. T B D L
    The 32 has Y O M & I got rid of those taillights. Man I hated those.
The copper plate is going on the 34 roadster & I need to paint it.
The yellow 34 coupe also has Y O M on it.

  7. I've run them on every old car owned... Washington has let you do it for a while... With
    some exceptions (wink wink)

  8. image.jpg image.jpg I've gotten better at restoring old plates. My first turned out rather "farmer". My current makes me proud. I'm waiting for Minnesota to approve it. I'll run it even if they don't!

I have 1960 YOM plates on my car in Texas. It is not registered as an antique. The lady at the DMV told me to hang on to them because the law was going to change soon, and in the future you would have to register as an antique, and would have to use the crappy antique plates -which are white, with blue and have a picture of an antique car on them. She told me if I did not register my car as an antique, and went and got the yearly inspection, I could keep them as a "grandfathered" clause type of deal. Since I am not registered as an antique, there are no restrictions from the state on driving. She may be full of crap, but you may want to check it out.

Having the antique plates lets you register only every 5 years, but has restrictions on driving -which you can probably ignore, but it will be hard to ignore your crappy plates!

From an insureance perspective, Hagerty, just expects me to drive less than what I tell them -which is 5k miles.

    I've got a 56, because I was born there in '56
I also run a 30 Oklahoma tag with an antique (40's) Tag surround that says Sanders Motor Company, that I got from Tommy here on the H.A.M.B. Thanks Tommy.

  20. I wouldn't think of running a "modern" plate, just wouldn't look right. Not that hard or expensive to do it right. ;)

Colorado skipped stamping a 61 plate, an used a 60 with a special sticker. Seem is the only year tha skipped until the late 70's DMV let me get away with a sticker version. Throws people for a loop if they know my 61 and see the 60 plate.

  23. In South Carolina we have the YOM plate but you can't run non YOM plates.

    078-1.jpg

    Example...you can not run a 50 tag on a 31 Model A. HRP

I'm happy that my YOM plates stayed with the '46 after selling it & then buying it back! Gonna go to the AAA and do the title & registration today, in fact.

I always thought it was interesting they couldn't spell out ILLINOIS and would put ILL on their plates like everyone was sick.
