I'm back, it took a while with a lost password. I've changed my Avatar, that is the ANSEN SPECIAL that ran in Southern California. Help me find it, or any info you have on it. Lou Senter the owner is on the right. Note the curve to the cowl, back of the hood a feature that should help ID any remains that are still out there. Photo is from around 1951. Bob

Howdy fella's! It took me a while to "re-engage" as well. Great photos from Latimore this weekend are popping up everywhere. What a trip!!

Stan Lobitz- Your hospitality was amazing and your Fried chicken out of this world! We had been on the road in the rain for 10 hours straight... it was much needed! Thank you so much for the tour!! AMAZING doesn't begin to describe your collection.

Here's another picture I stumbled onto on the JALOPY SHOWDOWN facebook page.

Love the shot from the Showdown page. I haven't seen a rooster tail like that in years. Did take the diamond off and put on a knob?

Great shots! They remind me of when I was young and would watch the USAC sprint cars race at Reading, PA. I wish I knew about the Latimore event. I'd love to catch one of those shows! You guys did a great job restoring the cars, too!

The Latimore visit was kinda "last minute". We knew we were invited months ago but not sure if we'd have cars ready.. if INDY and the month of May would intervene... if the Show program would change at the last minute.. OR if the rain would allow it! Plus, it was a "Trial deal" to see if it would work.. if the Museum board okay's it we'll be back next year and we'll do our best to get the word out.

GREAT PICS everyone! Wow.. Thank you!

I've been lurking on this thread for a long time . I just can't get enough of these gorgeous old race cars . The company that I own has been involved in a few restorations of vintage sprints , champ cars and midgets including the last "old " trostle built . In a few weeks I'm coming to the fine state of indiana to take in midget week (1st time). Could any of you purveryers of vintage speed possibly point me in a direction of some collections of antique race cars to see while I'm there ? Already planned on a trip to IMS museum and greatly look forward to it but really looking for dirt cars . Thanks in advance ,Eric.

Dirt in ur beer - I think some of Don Smith's collection is on public display in Terre Haute, Indiana.

I'm not sure of details. You might ask on the Indiana Open Wheel site.
