How to extend rear quarter panels

    I want to extend the quartes on my 52 Chevy but no to sure on how to or at least we're to make the cuts and what is the norm for length I was thinking 3 to 4 inches can any post so pics thanks

    That's the ticket right there... perhaps some custom taillights are in order as well?

    I would start with another set of quarters if you can find them, makes the taper alot easier to work with. I understand this is not something you will find on RockAuto..

    The less area you have to worry about welding the less warping you have to worry about.

    Sounds like you should ask your buddy how he did it. Thats a nice job, im sure he could point you in the right direction. Also check the 235Kids 54 Chevy build thread on here, he extended his quarters using ones from a 52 and it came out nice.

    I did a " how to" on building a set for my 46 Chevy on the old HAMB. Trying to figure out how to find it!!!!

    Your friend did such a nice job that I'd be inclined to trade out labor and have him do the work on your car.
