I know it's a re-post but.................Somethin' bout 59 Caddies playing on the ground makes my pants tight.
The 50 Shoebox you guys are talking about is a friend of mine, his name is Laurie Peterson he won twice at the hotrodarama this year. Once with his shoebox and the other with his truck that he gave to his sister. OOOYA the car doesnt have AIR-RIDE and thats how the car rolls all day long. The same with the Merc. Heres a couple of more shots from the show we came down to Seattle from Vancouver Canada. These are the cars we rolled down in. This is us hanging out before the show opened, in Tacoma Washington. These are pics of Laurie and his sister getting there prizes Heres a couple of more pics of the car and the truck at the Torchmans Barbeque. Of the truck that Laurie built and gave to his sister.
I'd like to see it like this if you "re-do" the Olds... ( Rough pic,yes...chopolds,please don't take this as some kind of offense.I really dig your Olds and watched it driving by a thousand times on video.Cool car ! That Olds has some REALLY bitchin' lines and I think this way those lines get even more accentuated.Just my humble opinion...)
This '54 Ford drawing by Janne simply shows THE perfect '52-'54 Ford Kustom and it gives me goose-bumps all over. It's a killer car and someone has to build it...
It's a very nice drawing & the car looks great! Personally I would've liked it even better without the skirts though... But I'm just a "no skirts guy" I guess... An other thing I've thought about is adding a -56 2dr ht roof to a -54 Victoria, keeping the -54 windshield, possibly chopped... How about that?
Great idea, that's a beautiful top. I think you're familiar with this example of '56-top-on-a-'55, from the young Mr. Cerny. I believe that the top Beuhrig designed for the '51 Vic was carried forward with a couple of modifications all the way through the standard '55 Vic. In my view the '56 was a refinement of that -- very much a factory chop job -- and it's too bad that it didn't have a longer run.
Yeah, I've got no idea of the actual work involved. But since the -55 hardtop roof seems to share a lot with 52-54 it's got me thinkin... -56 Fords btw esp Fairlane victoria are absolutely Fords best lookin design during the 50's imo... Maybe one day I've developed my photshop skills...
Love it frenz! The first year I had it in real paint, it didn't have scallops. I really DID prefer it that way. I just got carried away when I changed the blue to Candy blue, and put the scallops on. I regreted it, but left it that way. I 'may' do it in a single solid color next time, though, just to be different.
Are you kidding? Keep em coming. Nice shot of your Lincoln extended quarters in the last pic. I didn't realise how radically they were extended. Cool pic of the MERCETR in gold/orange. I had only seen it in black cherry. That was during a visit to Reasoner's (when he was storing it - '88/'89?).
Like I previously said, there's absolutely NO need to change anything on the Weesner Ford and my photoshop pic is rape...what a gorgeous car that is...I hope to see it some day in reality.FANTASTIC !!!
Mike, Thanks there is quite extensive body work on the back of the Lincoln. Everything is molded in. Rob didn't want it to look like someone just threw a back porch on!! The sides have also been taperd to give it that cris craft boat look I have to laugh at some of these photos. Sorry for the quality of them. Most were taken back in the 80's with a 110 camera, lol thank God my photo skills have improved (a bit) Most of these cars wouldn't even fit in that camera unless you stood back 50 feet, lol These were all pulled from 3 books, I have like 20 more books and thats not including the boxes ha ha I'M IN PIG HEAVEN,
Please give us MORE!!! I love your collection of custom car photo's. I took these photo's at a KOA show in Tennessee in 1993 Some very nice body work and detail work on this 49-50 Merc.
Those are a hard act to follow! Here's mine, same pic, different day. Not sure if the second pic will post or not.
That's HOT! I expecially like the 1/4's. I can see that bad boy draggin ass with peach satin, www's, and just a touch of chrome on the hood! I sure would look good rollin in that bad boy!
Ha ha I think I was at that show!!! Im so glad you posted the ones of the vette, That car was cool!!!!!!!!! I had some pics but not near as nice as yours. Your 2nd pic is a good friends car, I was looking for a good pic of it" Cat's 48" Beautiful custom, he drives the heck otta that car. And the Ford was a very good friends car, Bobby Simpson, he passed away a couple of yrs ago. He built that car yrs ago then purchased it back and redid it. I had a front shot of it on one of my posts!!!! Well I broke out the box of photos, I'll be putting more up
One of my faves, sadly redone by Don Garlits, and not as cool anymore. Rudy's Green Flame, as originally built following Robt William's rendition. I promise I'll post pics of my '54 Chevy tomorrow.
Kinda sucky pic, but the car's more together now. Mine, kinda of an homage to McPahilure's Chevy above.
some more!! The Blue shoe box convert was built by Bobby Simpson also, same as the 40 Ford I posted earlier. The 55 Chevy (gold) was built by Merl Berg!!! I love that car!!! The red 56 was the KOA give away car, Rob did the body work and paint on that one. Artic Sands belongs to a friend of ours. This was a clone of the original Clark/Kaiser Artic Gold. Artci Sands has the original Tail lights off of Artic Gold.
