Found this today from video google. Pretty neat stuff from 52 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5851344091937046529&q=hot+rod

HEHEHEHE HA HA HA... That was awesome! nice cars, too! I love this stuff.makes me wanna go home and watch"Blood on the Blacktop"
Thats great! I'd LOVE to have one of theose "jalopy's" or his piece of "junk"!!!!! Thanks, that really was cool! Tony
Holy crap, That was amazing! I can only imagine what it would be like to see that in 52'. Awesome, makes me want to trade my cabriolet for a roadster, pretty hard to beat the no windshield look. Alright, I gotta email that to all my non-hamb friends. The Boys of Today Are The Men of Tommorrow!
That video gave me a boner!!! Awesome cars, great race footage, what more can I say.... See, we're helping to save the world.
That is a cool vid especially footage of the Eddie Miller Jr's Pontiac lakester. There is a few good vids on http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=Hot Rods AND mediatype:movies AND collection:prelinger
what a killer clip! i somehow doubt the statement though on how "these boys will never speed on the highways again" is true.
Where did you get the DVD copy from? I'd like to learn how "Mel" got his flathead highboy to turn 151 MPH... must of had a tail wind. Steve
Great Video!...I Love the last line.."These boys of today are the men of tomorrow" or something like that. The HAMB slogan should be " These men of today are the boys of yesterday"
Here are a couple more movies from the "Archive" site. It is kinda' funny if you type in very odd stuff for searches and what it brings up. The best are the "Health" movies from the 50's. http://www.archive.org/details/Ingenuit1958 http://www.archive.org/details/Ingenuit1958_2 Outlaw hotrodders become law-abiding gearheads after a community organizes supervised racing clubs and timing associations. http://www.archive.org/details/RoadRunn1952
evilbay!!!! it also has the other one below "roadrunners" the movies are scratchy but they are public domain now, so for a $0.99 + $3.99 shipping i wasn't dissapointed. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=617&item=6463752045 search for more from this seller.
bttt We have got to run this back again, this is just super kool!, I'm going home to get the coupe out! Great job kid! Dad
Question? When I try to play the video on my puter it is jerky and voice and video keep pausing every 3 seonds. What am I doing wrong? I'd like to see it smoooooth out. thanx jim
These films are the coolest. Look at the scene where our hero, Mel, wrenches on his car in the backyard. Eating a sandwich and looking at his copy of Hot Rod mag for guidance. I looked up that specific copy of HRM, think it's from sometime 1951. When you look on the page he's looking at, there isn't a Flathead on it. How did I think of that you ask. .............this is what happens to your head when you watch this film as many times as I have. .....But how often do I get to see this kind of film of the cars and racing of my dreams.
