Drag racing since 1964, Started with motorcycles, later, in cars, I worked all the way up to Pro Stock.
I have had the pleasure of being friends with some of the greats, including Beswick, McEwen, WJ, Grumpy, Shepherd, Jungle Jim, the Greek, Wiebe and Ormsby. But I get just as much pleasure (or maybe more) relating how good it was back then to some of the fabulously talented young racers that we have today. Some day this will be their history to replay to future generations, and I just try to encourage them to go for it on every pass.
I still have 3 race cars, but they have been parked since someone handed me the microphone and asked me to resume an old passion that had been dormant since I stopped announcing drag races in 1984.
Coming up on 50 years of addiction to this stuff, and I have no desire to let up, or back off. Kind of like I raced.Interact
