I can tell you about KCTA. I was secretary of this association in the 1950's. It was a group of hot rod clubs in Kansas City, MO area. (Flying Cams, RPMS, Dragsters, etc. The group was formed to promote drag racing...Major Pond (KCPD Chief of Dectectives) helped the organization build a drag strip in KC, then he later became Wichita Police Chief. Lots of history and racing stories if you're interested.I wrote articles for DRAG NEWS and other publications. I published THE TACHOMETER which became AHRA "House organ".
