Shawn Mickelson has been around the automotive world since birth. Shawn’s passion for customizing anything with wheels stems from spending time at his fathers paint & body shop during his toddler years in the early 80’s. Shawn graduated from Goldendale High School in 1996 and moved to Spokane to pursue better employment opportunities, going to work for Kaagan Automotive as a Detailer and working into mechanics. He left Spokane in 2000 for Vancouver and went to work for Kar Kraft Paint & Body learning to weld sheet metal and minor fabrication along with straightening sheet metal damage with hammers and dollies. Shawn employs an in-depth, working knowledge of automobiles, obtaining certification in Steering/Suspension/Alignment, Braking Systems, Heating/Cooling/AC, Engine Performance, and Maintenance Services while working as an automotive technician at Firestone 2001-2003. In 2003, Shawn went to work for Woody’s 4x4 Inc. exploring drivetrain/differentials, aftermarket and custom suspension, custom steering geometry, and accessory installation. Now Shawn is focused on perfection with every project at Vancouver Hotrod Shop, increasing his experience and continuing his dream since the summer of 2008.
