My name is Ron and this is the “Flamin’ 40 Ford” I have wanted since I was a little kid growing up in Calif. I am dedicating it to the memory of my older brother, Bob who was a car guy before and after World War II. He and his two Brothers joined up after Pearl Harbor.
Bob had a great influence on me at a very early age being 20 years older than myself. Bob was a pre-WWII Hotrod guy before the war, and it continued after the war. Bob died of a heart attack while working on one of his cars on July 21, 1976 at the age of 52.
Bob and his two younger brothers, Milton and Lloyd were also car guys growing up in California. When they came home from WWII, I was just a pup. I looked up to all of them as they and their younger sister were always building, working on, or driving a cool Hotrod or Harley. All three of my Brothers passed away in the 1970’s.
My older sister was also a hot-rodder, is now 84, and still lives in California with her Husband, a WWII vet. He flew more than 30 missions over Europe in B-17’s (Hells Angels). He was also a car guy and after the war, he ran his own automotive shop until he retired.
My younger Sister and I always had nice cars when we were younger because of the influence of our older siblings.
Since I was 14 I’ve always had a Harley, BSA, Scooter, Hotrod, or Muscle car of some kind.
My wife (LadyDeuce) has a very nice ’32 Ford 5 Window, our cars keep us busy. I have been a member of the Slo Poks CC since the early 1980’s.
I have worked on the docks since 1959, Transferred to the Pacific Northwest in 1969. Retired in 2004. Thanks for listening. RonInteract
