I've been nuts about cars since the late 50s and built my first in 1965. My dad's love of Flathead V8 Fords got me started. The old man wouldn't let me drive till I understood what every part of a car did, how it worked & how to take it apart & put it back together, make it better, make it "mine" so that's what I did, & I still love every minute of it. Got into Drag racing in late 60's, customs were always neat, but I like drivers best, because cars are all about freedom, & I like going places.

When you build it with your own hands & hard earned money you've got something you can be proud of - you understand it & appreciate its capabilities, and since you know what is really involved in getting to that point, you know never to disrespect what another guy (or gal!) has done with theirs! (Another of Dad's rules growing up.)
