I've been into rods and kustoms for as long as I can remember. My parents have a picture of me at about 2 years old, cruising in my pedal car - arm on the top of the door and everything! That was followed by matchbox cars, model kits, drawing hot rods etc until I was old enough to drive.
In my early teens I attended the Regency Roadsters show at Cheltenham, and I started watching the drags at Long Marston when I was 17. After a brief flirtation with VWs (I know, I know!), I attended shows like The Nationals and Hayling Island for the first time. Life hasn't been the same since! All of this, combined with a love of rockabilly since I was about 10, has made me the oddity I am today.
My current ride is a '65 GMC stepside, which replaced a '65 Comet convertible.
I'm collecting more parts to finish (OK, start) my '23T which I bought as an unfinished project in an over-excited moment on my return from Bakersfield in 1999.
I'm lucky that my wife Lyndsay is also into the cars - which meant that I was able to add a second visit to the Hot Rod Reunion on to our honeymoon. We went again in 2011, and I now realise more than ever that my life will not be complete until I own a AA Fuel Altered!Interact
