I loved kustoms since a kid in the early 60s. I would look at car mags until I memorized what was in them. Barris, Winfield, Watson, Alexanders, Roth, etc. were my heros. Went to all the shows in Chicago, built all the models. During school, I used to draw Ed Roth stuff over and over until I could mimic it. Had auto shop in high school, a 56 Merc convert in 66 and no money, 49 Ford in 67 still no money, 65 GTO in 69 and less money. Played with bikes, Hondas, BSA and a Triumph. College, marriage, still no money to play with cars until much later. Played around restoring cars,a 60 Triumph TR3, 63 Ford Galaxie, 53 Ford Convertible, but always wanted a kustom.
