if that 283 had the oem front sump Nova pan in it, you have to swap the pan, oil pump/pickup, and the pump drive shaft to convert it to a generic...

Hard to tell from that picture angle, but...if those lines are above your MC, it's going to be tough to bleed. Pressure bleeder maybe?
