1996 nissan PU stick. real f'in hotrod, there.
    1966 Ford F100 240 3-on-the-tree
I'm a 4th generation bodyman from michigan, my grandpa learned the trade from his father-in-law in detroit. my dad took it up after art school in his early 20s after the family moved up to traverse city and then northport, mi. he worked for my grandpa in the collision shop, but mostly doing restorations and collision on classics. lots of imports (jags, MGs, porsche, ect) and stock early post war american in those days. a few muscle cars, a few hot rods. about 7 years ago, my dad moved down the street and started doing higher-end restoration on roughly the same type of cars. I've worked for my dad, through my grandpa at first, since i was 10.

My grandpa has been a rodder his whole life. he currently has an extremely chopped '37 for sedan delivery. it's a very unique looking car, but he seriously doesn't understand the value of what he's created. he's been talking about selling it for years to finish his 55 nomad project, but I doubt it will happen.

my dad was more of a hotrodder in his younger days, his first car was a lowered & shaved 60 olds 98 that he built up when he was 15. he's got a 41 chevy that has sortof fallen by the wayside and a 51 merc that's in primer that's been awaiting a chop (pretty much everything else is done) for going on 25 years. he's completely absorbed by work, so his projects have sortof gone by the wayside, not to mention he HATES mechanicals with a passion. I feel a bit deprived in that regard. he bought a 1967 e-type 2 years ago and has been very happy just having a driver again.

I'm currently finishing up helping one of my highschool friends redo a '34 ford PU his dad built in the early 80s. his dad has since passed, so it's got a lot of sentimental value. it was/is a bit of a cobble job, its channeled and had a custom box, but his dad was an iron worker and everything was done with an arc welder, so there was/is a lot of filler. I pulled most of the filler out and straightened most of the panels a few years ago and it's been slowly made it's way back into paint this summer. it's a nice 01-02 prowler orange pearl. we made a new box for it, he built up a new 350/t350 for it.

My girlfriend recently accepted a teaching position in waco, tx, so I'll be moving down there with all of our stuff very soon. I'm looking forward to starting over in a more economically viable place. I'd really like to continue honing my metalworking skills (definitely my strongpoint), welding, and machining (all theory. my dad is about as interested in machine tools as engines) so I'll be looking for work in any of those fields and/or shop space.

I've recently found out that the engine in my nissan is a solid performer with a turbo. I'd really like to build it up, build up a tube frame, and build up a nice aluminum body shell to go around it.

regarding the screen name, it's one I've used since i was about 12. it's always available, don't bother trying to pronounce it, i don't :) it started as og, but 6letter min screen name killed that
