Americana held a fascination for me from an early age, always wanted the U.S. toy cars, Hot Wheels, Revell, Barris, Roth. One day a friends' dad had a copy of 'Hot Rod'...it was the late 60's, I was hooked, never been able to shake it off. Followed the rod, custom & drag racing ever since. Dropped off the radar in the late 80's & 90's, but now with all the nostalgia rods and drags, its some of the guys from my generation building those 60's kits for real ! Never built or run a rod myself, as yet, old English Fords are about my limit, '58 Anglia 100E, '63 Zodiac mk3, '66 Cortina, '77 Granada mk1 and now another Mk3 Zodiac. Dream car?...that would fit in a U.K. garage?...U.S. Show n' Go 60's style english Fordson panel Gasser, cherry red flake, five spokes...would be todays choice!
Involved in art all my life, self taught, pen and ink, watercolour, and later acrylics. Varied stuff down the years: Movie & rock stars, historic buildings, dogs, children etc, but I've always loved the rods, drags & classic cars. From doodling wheelstanders in school books, 40 years later here we are again!
Lets just keep them shit boxes rolling my friends!Interact
