Retired after 28 years Naval service. Did a ground up restoration of a 1957 Chevy Nomad and installed an LS-7 blueprinted 454 engine. Had the Nomad for 36 years. Now have an El Camino with an L82 Vette engine. Rebuilt first engine at age 14 (dodge straight 8). Started tuning cars for drags while in high school. Love of cars hindered some during 28 years in USN, but bought and restored my Nomad while stationed in Calif. Bought my Del Ray while stationed in Dallas. Have only had the El Camino 2 years. Got a 36 Chevy Sedan Delivery about 2 years ago. Drive line is complete. Just starting on body. Engine is a punched out 454 (now 478) with 10:1 pistons, roller rocker cam, Holley 850 double pumper. MSD ignition, March serpentine belt system, 700R4 tranny. Hope to have body finished by Apr 2015. Will haul car to Tucson for interior. Plan to show car from there. Paint and body work will be done by Jimmie Bonds. He built about 28 Choppers for the Martin Brothers. One sold for $140,000.
