I have been into cars since 1959 when I was allowed to walk "downtown" by myself. The cars were all parked on Main street diagonally and I began to discover the details of them. I was bit hard and my first driver was a 1953 Olds 2door Sedan that came from California-was purchased in Pipestone, MN. I suspect my love of Olds has to do with that first one and subsequent ones as well. I have spent 20+ years in the US Army and have served all over the world. After the Army I returned to school and eventually had both kids out of the house and could once again focus on my love of most things automotive and purchased the aforementioned '64 Olds. I am partial to customs and will be taking the next step this next year by once again turning my focus to the Jetstar as I "think" I have her mechanically reliable. Yes, I am old enough to have purchased the "little pages" at the corner drug store and was stopped in my tracks when I saw the Green 51Mercury with the flames coming out of the wheel wells and also built models till I could work on the real thing.
