I started my hotrodding passion with a 39 Ford Coupe in the late 50's. I then moved to make an Olds/Hydra-matic powered chopped and channelled 34 Ford 1/2 ton.
My next car was a Buick powered 47 Chev coupe. I ran the Buick 3 spd and rear end, and had American Pontiac hubs on the Chevy front spindles to mount chrome reversed Buick wheels on all four corners. The car was shaved and had 57 Vette tail lights.
I got an offer I couldn't refuse, sold the car and purchased an Austin Healey Sprite. I couldn't leave this engine alone, and punched it out to 1300cc, and added and cam, headers, shaved flywheel, etc., and was able to pull 4 gears of rubber. I was the terror of Healeys and TR4's, but the running gear was not up to the power it was producing and I broke cranks, tranny's, and axles.
I did a couple of other cars, but the one I have had the longest is my 55 Chev Cameo 1/2 ton which I purchased in 1968. I replaced the 6 with a 283, and in 1970, I swapped in a 396. I am presently building up a 454, and hope to install it this summer.
I have had the Calientes for 9 ( the 67) and 4 years ( the 65 ). The 65 is in pieces, but the 67 big block 390 is my summer driver.
There is more, but you can see that I am a bonified car nut and have always done my own work, it might not be as pretty but its mine.
