MY FATHER WAS A WELDER MY WHOLE LIFE, MY GRANDPARENTS OWNED A WRECKING AND AUTO SALVAGE YARD ON 10 ACRES WHERE I SPENT ALL MY SUMMERS GROWNING UP WITH MY UNCLES, WAY COOL PLACE TO LEARN ,HARD WORK AND SATISFACTION IT BRINGS, CUTTING TORCH, BOOM TRUCK, TEARING STUFF APART, DRIVING ALL GRANDPAS TRUCK AS SOON AS I COULD REACH THE PEDALS, USING THE HUGE METAL SHEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME, IT WAS MOUNTED ON AND DRIVEN BY AN 40'S INTERNATIONAL 1 TON WITH FLATHEAD 6 FOR POWER , THE FLYWHEEL ON THE SHEAR WAS A 4 FOOT DIAMETER SPOKED STEEL WHEEL, AT SOME TIME IT HAD BEEN LAID ON ITS SIDE AND FILLED WITH CONCRETE FOR MORE MASS, THE JAW WOULD OPEN ABOUT 6" AT THE FRONT AND ABOUT A FOOT DEEP AND WOULD CLEANLY CUT MOST ANYTHING STUCK IN IT, THAT THING SCARED THE SHIT OUTTA ME WHEN I WAS YOUNG, PLAYING ON TOP OF THE OLD CAR BODIES PILES HIGH AT THE BACK OF THE JUNK YARD, BEING ALLOWED TO LEARN THRU PAIN, TREASURE HUNTING EVERYWHERE IN THE JUNKYARD AND OUT BUILDINGS, BEE'S AND OTHER ANIMALS LOVE OLD CARS , MORE LEARNING, HAD OLDER BROTHERS TO GROW UP WITH AND FOLLOW THIER HOT ROD ANTICS , LIKE LAYING RUBBER IN OUR FATHERS CARS, I HAVE BEEN PASSING THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DOWN TO MY SON SINCE HE WAS VERY YOUNG, AT 5 YEARS OLD HE WOULD SPEND TIME IN THE GARAGE, HE IS 25 NOW AND HAS NEVER STOPPED AND LIVING THE OLD CAR DREAM!
