So the common gauge sizes for me are 2&1/16, 2&1/8, 2&5/8 and 3&3/8. Both Dewalt and Milwaukee make hole saw cups in all those sizes.

A pneumatic needle scaler, even a HF cheapie, is pretty good at that kind of removal.
