1955 chevy 2 door post -hot rod in progress. 1953 Ford Custom driver
hotrodding is in my blood....luckily my dad (R.I.P.) was a long time car guy...from engine building and chassis to bodywork, drag racing, swapmeets, car shows and everything in between -thats just how i grew up..I didn't know any different.

we always had classics and muscle cars around the house and we went to the strip almost every weekend. i was going to the NHRA springnationals watching NITRO cars run since before i can even remember (4 or 5 yrs old i guess)...that will change your life let me tell you.

cars my family owned while i was growing up: 38 ford businessmans coupe, 56 plymouth 2door, 50 and 51 ford shoeboxes, various tri 5's, 50's model pickups, 59 ford retractable hardtop (that was a nice car), cudas, darts, dusters and charger race cars,...my first car was a sweet 63 buick special convertible, cherry red with a white top rolling on baby moons. i wish i hadn't sold that one....thats life...but finally made enough money to start building my 55 chevy in 2001. after i watched American Graffiti as a kid...I had to have a badass 55. It's not perfectly HAMB friendly as it has some "pro street" influenced build styling with the 4 link and modern suspension....but it is all hot rod IMO. I have done all the work on the car myself (with a little help from friends and family of course)....I have back halved the car (4 link), it has a glass tilt front end (inspired by the movie 2 lane blacktop), fatman front suspension stub, big block chevy, TH400, narrowed 9inch rear with 33x18.5 MT rubber. My goal is to have a mean looking street strip car capable of running 10's in the quarter. it will probably take another 4 or 5 years to complete.

After lurking on the HAMB for a few years I really started to appreciate the earlier style hot rods and customs and the traditional build style that the HAMB is all about.
