If you didn't use a solid (non hydraulic) lifter when you checked clearance, the hydraulic lifter will be full of air and only open the valve...
Smaller bore = easier to push but pedal travel is longer. Larger bore= harder to push but shorter travel. Lots of things to consider ...pedal...

No, that's incorrect. The 89 engine would have had 13726548. Correct on the current cam being 15426378.
