It seems to be the natural evolution. As tends to be the trend, I grew up around h/c and skating. Car culture seems to allow an opportunity for creativity, a sense of community, a feeling of craftsmanship. I admire the hunt for the right parts, the physiology of internal combustion, the manipulation of timing and fuel delivery to accomplish that mechanical symbiosis that is the representation of who you are, and the way you travel through not just a daily commute, but life.
It's cool to see the way other peaple express themselves through nuts and bolts, and geometry. It's like biology. the junkyards are our Primordial soup. We pull the beginnings of life from the ooze, and set to work evolving our species. You go to a car show, or swap meet, and see other peaple's attempts at playing God. When you get lucky, sometmes you see all the different species and their masters living in harmony, sort of a "circle of life". Man, it feels good to be part of one of the last truly organic american subcultures.
