That makes sense. I did a bit of poking around and found that they all use the same oil pump from 55-62.
So I got my answer. Turns out this '58 is in a boat and has a marine 2 stage oil pump with a unique drive.

Should a 58 292 have a hex drive on the distributor or just a tab like a SBC? Were they tab before going hex? If so when did they change?
