When I was a kid I didn't collect baseball cards. I had hot rod cards and played with hot wheels. My favorite hot rod card was a green big window 1956 Ford F100. I kept that card in my little plastic wallet where the photo ID would go. I had that card well into my teens. At 14.5 year old my dad purchased a small window '56 f100 and we...(me) went to work. His money my labor. I don't beleive it was his intention but when I turned 16 he gave me the truck. My mom and dad were divorced and he took a transfer with work and would no longer live in the same town. I think he felt guilty about all the work I put into his truck so he left it with me when he moved. I still have that truck 30 years later. Unfortunately, I do not have my dad anymore. Pancreatic cancer. As a result I inherited his green big window '56 f100. Not how I wanted to obtain my childhood dream but I wasn't about to let it go. The truck has inspired me to get back into hot rods. I'm having lots of fun working on both pickups these days. I would like my next project to be a 1957 big window f100 styleside. Just need some more time and money!
