      so.......How do you like it?

@worthop Hello @worthop, it worked a bit better (10%?)than the two Rochester BC's I'd rebuilt and a Carter 1bbl too. A little more seat of the pants, but not much, it could be my fault. I didn't try different jets et cetera. I later bought an Autoline refurbished Rochester BC that worked very well,... so now I have 5 running carbs of three manufactures. The 235 ran well till late 2017 but after that only moved in driveway until totally dead in 2019. I just recently began tearing down 235 to get rebuilt- head is off now as of 7/2/2022. The 235 never had any work internally since I dragged it out of the field in San Angelo Texas in 2009. It had last been driven in 1989 in Memphis Tn. It is possible it is the original engine never rebuilt. I drove it from 2010-2017 in Memphis but only on local streets, it was too slow for highway ( would top out at 60 plus mph). Very reliable around town, it started in 10F to 100F with 6 volts, never overheated or smoked, but just never made power it should have despite all I could do externally- carbs, ignition, tuning, et cetera. I drove a '50 Chevy 1/2 ton with a freshly rebuilt '56 235 as my first car and drove it on many 1000 mile trips from 1974 till 1983 so I'm looking forward to getting this one in good shape so it can go on a long trip. Sorry to reply six years later, I haven't logged in to this site since 2016 I think, my apologies. A lot of life problems. When the 235 is rebuilt I'll compare the carbs again. I really prefer the original look of the Rochester or Carter 1bbl's but if the Weber 2bbl runs much better I'll use it most of the time. Thanks for your question, Robert P.S. the bent pushrod I found on no.1 cylinder may explain the poor running in late 2017!
