Burt Munro was as driven an individual as ever lived. His self taught mechanical ability, and single minded focus on making his beloved Scout the fastest in the world is the stuff of legends. It was my great honor to meet him on his first trip to Bonneville in 1962, and watch him come back for the next 8 years in persuit of his passion. He devoted 50 years of his life to his dream. Burt Munro is a hero in my book!

Robert "Jocko" Johnson. A free spirit with incredible vision and metal working tallent. Jocko was The Man in the 60's for cylinder head porting. His heads were the key to my roadsters record setting performance.

Ak Miller, always pushed the envelope, looking for better engine performance. His usually un-orthodox cars always shook up the troops. One of the sharpest whits, and greatest sense of humor I have ever known.

Leland "Buzz" Lowe, my Dad. Barely a high school education, but a mechanical genius. Could build or fix anything with his hands. He taught me how to use and respect tools and machinery. Taught me the value of hard work and honesty. Thanks Pop.
