The car was shot in Culver City's industrial area off Jefferson. It's justified because the early Edelbrocks head would have been made not far from here. In this shot, the top is off but the hood on. Tim Sutton, photographer, wanted to show the versatility of the car, I guess. I don't know yet what issue the car will appear in Rod & Custom. The sooner the better, I'm getting anxious!

Scott, this is the brake set up on Daytons. It has the 32 pedals actuating 1940 hydro pedals bolted to a home made mount further back. Pretty ingenious, it hides the whole thing within the height of the frame.

Putting a spring back on the axle. I start with the main leaf and clamp down the rest aligning them with a big screwdriver down the bolt hole.

Taking a spring off the axle, first by using two big c-clamps on either side of the bolt. Loosen the bolt and the clamps at the same time for safety if you like.

The car has a lot of body modification to differentiate itself from the rest of the rod prowling the streets of Long Beach in the 50's. It's really a customized Model A roadster. Sort of a missing link between sleds and rods.
