bought a decklid that was supposedly for a model a. Tried it on my 29 sports coupe and then on my buddys 30 coupe and it didnt fit. Width fits good but its around 2 inches too long. Maybe someone out there knows what its off of. Thanks

Maybe the below the deck lid panel is wrong.. They have different ones for coupes and roadsters.. Also the above the deck lid panels are different on coupes and roadsters.. If you have a roadster below the deck lid panel on your coupe the deck lid will not fit.. All deck lids 28/31 are the same dimensions...

I read in a different thread on here that a 32 decklid for a 5w and roadster are the same width as a model a but a little longer

Here's a pic of one of my 30-31 Model A deck lids. Mine all look like this.
Yours is missing two big holes...pretty sure it's a '32 ford roadster/5 window lid.

    Looks like 32 lid

  10. This is only partially true. The skin is the same but the underneath is different between 28/29 and 30/31. 30/31s have less of an arc/bend in the structure.

It's a '32, all right. My bud had a Model A lid on his '32 just to make Old Time Drags class. Lid was 2" short (at the bottom)
I told him to find one for a '32. He said it'd be easier to add 2" to the 'A'.

Someone would be lucky to have an extra '32 lid; it'd make more sense to build a '32 around it than sell it off... well, seems like it, any more...

Hey "Fuzzy Knight", You'll have a hard time convincing the guys over at "Ford Barn" the arch is different between 28/29 and 30/31 deck lids...

I think he'd have a hard time convincing anybody worth their old Ford salt.

  16. I would bet it is a 32 lid as well. My brother had the same thing happen when he purchaced his A roadster. Made for a nice pay day!

  17. Sell it and buy a new decklid and a bunch of parts.

Looks like somebody cut out the metal where the rumble seat brackets go. Was wondering what would be a fair price?
