Event Coverage Southeast GASSERS at Greer Dragway

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by seadog, Apr 27, 2014.

  1. Had a good time at the Gasser event down at Greer Dragway yesterday. Looked like a good turnout and it was obvious that all the cars had quite a bit of work done over the winter...lots of shiney new paint!

Here's some of what was there...

Great shots of a terrific event, except for a couple of late models it could have been at any drag strip back in the '60s. Loved them all!!!!!

Did anyone get the story on that?

I remember vaguely hearing over the PA about him not being in the "spirit of the rules" but I didn't catch exactly what they wanted him DQ'd for.

  17. Excellent shots! Did anyone get a pic of the FED doing a wheel stand ?

  18. 'Hope somebody did. I heard about it over the PA. I was back at the car getting lunch and missed it. That car is really neat and I hope he will keep after it till the traction issue is solved.

the brown billy the kid car put it on the back bumper and threw the belts off...he drove that car to the track

  20. :):):) We were waiting for the crowd to thin out before making a run. Didn't think of the downside of no one getting a pic if something went wrong. I have the GoPro vid from the side of the digger but its not as sketchy looking as it looked from the side. That's Tylercrawford 's digger. Real nice car.

That's the plan anyways . . . I bent the torsion bar ~15 degrees or so but nothing else looks completely out of whack. Going to pull the radius rods off when my new torsion bars come in from S&W and see if they are out.

Flexed in the mounting flange on the front axle a hair . . . going to straighten that and double shear it (which it probably should have been to begin with). Also fab up a way to secure some weight in the front.

Have already drawn up a wheelie bar for it but wanted to see if it needed one or not . . . apparently it does.

I will for sure be at Steel in Motion . . . how much of the list is done is up in the air right now. It can still move under its own power right now though.
