Projects Barn Find the Card game

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by flatheadalb, Apr 24, 2014.

  1. Hey Guys,

Aside from loving killer cars, I'm a game geek. After reading The Cobra in the barn, I was inspired to develop a card game that allows players to find the greatest cars of all time with plenty of junkers in between. We all dream of finding the holy grail, now you can with your friends and kids. My goal is simple, to have fun with friends and family, make something kids will love, teach the history of cars and get people talking to each other on a stormy night. My plan is to prototype it and launch on kickstarter if the feedback is positive. Please let me know if you would play such a card game with 2-4 players and would car lovers like me care. Your opinions really matter.

    Thanks and safe rodding!

    Albie

  3. I like the concept. Go man go!

  4. I have it pretty well planned out but I wanted to hear from you guys. Very simple to play

Cars from all eras. Has an auction feature. First game will have random makes teens through the 70's you just don't know what you will find. Down the road, there will be car card sets that can be shuffled into the deck.

  7. We play a game on long road trips, kinda like a "The price is Right" anywhere you stop to get gas, there's a free local "Auto Trader" magazine rack by the door... we pick them up. When the radio stations start to fade or gets to "churchy", she pulls them out and reads me the ads and I try to guess the asking price... keeps me awake.... mostly the ones for Pontiak Azteks... Why are they over $500, ever?

I think that's a worthy idea. I'm on Kickstarter too so, I'd fund that.

  9. Licensing sucks, but you have to do it if you make a legit game to sell.

  10. Just car names no logos, no commercialization
    No need to license.

Simple. The ignition switches haven't failed!

  17. We play a similar game named

"How much would you NOT pay"

The vehicles poorly written add is read verbatim and answers get thrown around until everyone has stated how much they would not pay given the description. Its always good for a few laughs.

yeah, that would be great. It would be a game I would love to play with my 16 year old daughter. She is a gear head (took after her old man), and knows more about vintage cars than many grown men. I think she would love it too, and it would help develop youngsters into appreciated the old iron as well. Awesome.

Check this out !!! I had one of these games in the mid-70's and it was used a lot. Would invite a neighbor couple over and we would play this game and drink beer all night.
If you produce your Game Idea be sure to check for copyrights or patents. After that "Let The Good Times Roll !!!" Jeff
