Left first out of stop number 2 to get some shots of the front of the line.

  6. Looks like a great turn out. Thanks to everyone for the pics!

  7. Sorry I couldn't make this one Bret. Great turn out! I'm in for an Ark/Mo run next year. Maybe start or finish at the office if you want to. Have that parking lot across the street that will hold a pile of cars since the city park behind the office isn't started yet. LOL

Damn! You guys had the turn out!!! Looks like one heck of a good time, and all the little left over Route 66 segment around there are bitchin'. It would be kinda fun next year to make the entire circuit of Hot Rod Hundreds around the country...

And a good day was had by all. We saw some neat vintage tin (project material) going through the small towns. Good to visit with all of you. The roadster folks really lucked out with perfect weather. Sam

I was driving one of those roadsters and you couldn't have asked for better roadster weather. The views going over the stockton lake bridges were best viewed from a roadster.

  13. Please don't be offended, but this is my favorite comment, from someone that wasn't able to run with us in SWMO. Why??? Because of this comment in the AZ HRH thread.

A sincere "Thank you", Mr Louvers, for making my morning. I take your above comment as a HUGE compliment.

this pink Buick looks familiar, did it come from California a few years back? my friend had one like this, had an Art Himsel paint job on it. sold it at the Hot August Nights auction. just for fun I used to tell him if I had it I would paint it black.

  16. LOL. I saw that.

Hope the reports from SWMO help extend that cloud nine feeling some more for ya. ;-) I'll be riding this one for a while, that's for dang sure.

Great job guys and outstanding turn out!! Looks like the weather cooperated as well.

  18. The pink Buick was built by Gary Mundy in Independence Kansas. Gary builds some killer cars.

It was pretty awesome. I don't think some of those small towns knew what hit them.

I was last in line, and I bet I saw 25+ people along the route that were standing out by the road taking pics. Rolling through the small town areas, it probably took a good 2 - 5 minutes for the entire line to pass.

We only had 17 cars in Arizona and people didn't know what to think. That was one of my first thoughts when I saw the pictures of the train...... There must have been a few sore thumbs in the area! ;)

  26. I saw a cell phone video from when we rolled through Willard. A friend of Steve Bradley (red '40 Chevy Sedan) had posted it on Facebook. The site was pretty awesome.

That was one of the things that I did NOT do, was alert the local towns that we were going to roll through. Since we were on the move, I didn't want city officials to think that we were going to create any economic stimulus, road hazards, prolonged traffic issues, etc.

Seemed to work fine, but I was the lead dog in the pack and missed everything that happened behind me.

Absolutely no offence taken, and flattery heaped right back at ya! I was a little afraid as I hit "send" on the comment that I made on the AZ thread that it would be taken as an insult. It wasn't. I have a tendency to be COMPLETELY in love with my town and the dessert I live in.

But, over the years I have done the remnants of Route66 twice, once in a civilian vehicle and once peering through the windows of my beloved Plymouth, and I LOVE that section of the country too. I can't wait to see the rest of the locations in the upcoming events.

We were a little lighter on our trip than I would have liked to have seen, but I sort of expected it. See, the middle weekend of April is kinda our "End of season" closer deal for the year. Oh, we'll have evening car shows and cruise nights through out the summer until October, but for the most part it's way too hot for roadsters and non-air conditioned cars from here on out during the day. On that particular Saturday HotRodRon and I started at So-Cal at 7:30 am, hit the 100, went to my club's picnic, Then the Cruise on Central all in one day, and we missed about 5 other shows around town I could think of the same day. Might make sense to move ours a week or so earlier, or for the hardy, a week or so later, although the handy thermometer in the shop says it's 101 degrees as I type this.

I'm serious though, it would be fun to chase this ride through the different locations across the country. IF I can get the Plymouth back together this year, and IF my financial out look improves on the level I hope it will, that might be a doer for next year.

Thank you for the compliment, and yours looked like a bunch of fun too!

I couldn't agree more. I would rather be on the road, than sitting at some car show watching others look at my car, lol.
