Today was the Springfield edition of the Hot Rod Hundred reliability run and I'd say it was a success. The amount of cars far exceeded everyone's expectations with guys coming all the way from Iowa and Big Ken coming all the way from Dallas in his 33 pickup to win the Long Haul award. It was such a fun day and I can't wait until next year, or perhaps the next one in OKC or St. Louis.

I'd love to have one of these here in central Ohio. I've lost all interest in almost any show...it's all about the drive.

    Great fun. Kool drive home

  17. Thanks for the kind words. The words "overwhelming success" now make sense to me. While I was the point guy, I could not have pulled this thing off without the support of family and friends.

We had a great group of participants, even reaching a bit out of the HAMB friendly cars, but it all was good. Thanks for all the patience as we were improvising on how to make the moving event work across the route.

Out event wound up clocking in at 149 miles, depending on whose odometer you look at, after I missed a turn. Not reprinting shirts to say "Hot Rod Hunnert an' a Half".

Thanks again, to all this involved. Without you, I'd have been on another Saturday solo ride through the country.

BTW, Duncan, let's talk. I'd consider a Conway to Clarksville route, or something like that, if you and Dr Dave can help me, for maybe next spring.

All i can say is we had a blast, was able to take my son and his girlfriend and we got to talk alot along the way. Was great cause i dont always get to spend alot of time with my son like that and on top of it got to know his girlfriend better. Great family event and plus meet and fellowship with some new friends. Am excited to do this again plus a big shout out to Bret and the Crossmembers CC for puttin this on, thank you so much.

If you see this car on a trailer call the 911 it's stolen.. that would be a great bumper sticker. Mine doesn't even have a rear bumper and I'd buy one

Thanks for a great run. I think that is the longest trip my lawn chairs have taken without being out of the trunk. We got so far behind from stopping at antique & fabric stores I was afraid I would meet everyone coming back.

    Cool photos Clay.

I got there at 8 to find out they were out of breakfast already. But luckily Bret's a pretty cool guy and bought me an Everything in the Galley omelet. My stomach hates me
