    How did I miss this?

The attention to detail reminds me of the Rolf coupe.

The design and fab work are okay but the fact that you are doing it in what appears to be an oversized broom closet is friggin amazing!!!! With skills like that I'd like to see what you can do with a sign.....Keep up the impressive work and we'll keep taggin along.

Fantastic work, man...keep at it!...that windshield frame is amazing...

  24. Thanks again for all the kind comments, They are very very much appreciated :)

Sorry for slacking lately, I have been doing bits and bobs on the coupe but a lot of my time has been taken up by working on my brothers race boat again now all that stuff is back in season.

    quick update-

I've pretty much finished the fully stainless steel windshield frame.

The top hinge consists of a long length of stainless piano hinge (expensive!) which i drove the pin out of, and re-assembled the wrong way round (the one on the left in the pic, make sense? good.) I also had to cut a bit off the width of one half. You can see how it fits to the frame in the second photo.

The next job was to make the stays and brackets etc.
I drew up the shapes in the sign making program at work and got a mate to blast them out on his water jet.
The small brackets are 2mm stainless, and the stays are 5mm stainless, as i wanted them to look a bit chunkier than stock ones.

Bending the brackets was a bit tricky, I fucked up 5 of them before i had two that were good enough to use.

All i need to do now is polish those bits and the metal work on the screen is finally finished. I'm really happy with how it works and how it turned out as i'm new to TIG welding and this type of stainless fab work.

I also took my '40 ford wheels (16x4 front, 16x6 rear) to a friends bodyshop to be blasted and painted in light ivory, he did an amazing job.

Then the exciting bit, putting the new tyres on! Cheers to miles at Jackhammer speedshop for sorting me out the black wall firestones and tubes, top bloke, top shop.

Something was missing, so i busted out the tyre paint while i watched the simpsons, and i LOVE the way they look.

I've also been busy painting my recently bored out block and rebuilt and skimmed cylinder heads for the 283.
9 of the valve guides were cracked so i had them milled out and new bronze guides fitted with new Comp Cams valve springs and hardware.

They all got 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of gloss black 2K epoxy paint in my back garden on a sunny evening.

    More soon :)

Jeeze! Just when I thought I would make any piece I needed, I read your first page alone and almost pass out.
What an inspiration, I wouldn't be surprised if you made your pistons or carbs at this point. Keep goin.
