(sorry they are so big -- )

I bought an old trailer and these shocks were on it. Are they anything special to be saved?

    Too cool to throw out.

That looks like a light-duty axle. Do you know the capacity? They might work on a light hot-rod.

  3. They appear to be the early style Ford shocks. HRP

HRP is correct, early Ford. I bought a pair at the Portland Swap Meet last weekend for $15, but that was a deal. They list around $50 in the classifieds.

They look like an old style of "friction shocks"... I dig 'em... very cool :)

  8. Not exactly friction. Houdaille shocks. Two of mine are exactly the same. Take hydraulic oil.

And they are adjustable...Those coil spring boat trailers tended to bounce around alot; those shocks were a good addition..Adjuster looks to be in the middle...

Just the thing for a light weight traditional hot rod.

Fixed trailer axle, 13" tires. I wouldn't have tried to haul the 300 gallon water tank that was on it!!

Sounds like the shocks are worth pulling -- it's gonna be a lawn mower trailer.
